ONE OF THE NORTHWOODS FINEST AMERICAN PLAN FAMILY RESORTS FOR OVER 100 YEARS

In 2010 we will be hosting 4 Women's Weekends:

Jan 8- Jan 11
Jan 22- Jan 25
Feb 5- Feb 8
Feb 26- Mar 1

The cost is $500 per weekend- this includes everything except gratuities and a fishing license. If you would like to purchase a license, the cost is $24 for a 4 day license for non-residents and $20 for residents.

Cozy, private, dorm-style rooms in the Main Lodge will be your sanctuary for the weekend. Lovingly maintained by the family since the 1960's.  Boyd's is truly your ultimate winter retreat getting away from the hustle and bustle of city living.

The rustic outward appearance of the resort remains, but loving care over the past century ensures the modern amenities blend with nostalgia seemlessly.  You will be able to enjoy the unique blend of old and new world as you enjoy the camaraderie of others seeking retreat from busy modern day living.

Resident expert guides will be on hand to share the sport of ice fishing with you.  They will guide you through every step, from drilling the hole and baiting the hook, to luring the fish in to bite.  A chandelier glints from the upper window of a designer ice shanty.  Complete with tongue and groove paneling, electricity, carpet, underwater camera for viewing fish activity, padded seating, and a wood stove, making our shanty "elegance on ice."

Other unique opportunities for our guests, aside from ice fishing, include trap shooting, hiking, snowshoeing, animal tracking, a visit to an active logging camp, cross-country skiing (available nearby), wreath making, and the opportunity to experience peace and quiet and solitude for everyone.

A warm fire is always going in the main lodge and if you feel beckoned to it, you are always invited to curl up in a cozy armchair with your favorite book.  In this relaxed atmosphere, only the crackle of the burning logs can be heard and the tranquility of the north woods will enchant you.

Each Weekend is Friday through Monday, with the following:

Friday

Get settled in and get to know everyone.  We will have a cocktail hour featuring a few select wines served along with hors d'oeuvres.  After everyone has had a chance to unwind from their travels, we will be serving you dinner in our north woods dining room in the main lodge followed by a relaxing night in front of the fire.

Saturday

7 am      For early risers we will offer a continental breakfast.  Following breakfast we will offer a 1-2 mile hike out to one of the Boyd's wilderness lakes and experience assorted animal tracking along the way.
